Infrastructure Automation Engineer

Puebla, Mexico

This role will be responsible for supporting the business and customers alike. This means leveraging software development and scripted solutions to automate the many tasks required to enable and manage our offerings. The river is wide, but the experience and satisfaction are deep.

General Accountabilities

  • Utilize Ansible or other “Infrastructure as Code” tools (Terraform, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack.)

  • Emphasis on configuration management and small software project deployments.

  • Scale and centralize our IaC implementations through smart design or platforms like Ansible Tower/AWX.

  • Design and customize monitoring for everything from Linux VMs to physical data center components (ex: HVACs).

  • Monitoring system (Zabbix, VMware VROPs, Halcyon), PagerDuty, and ITSM tools make up the average pipeline.

  • SNMP protocol experience a bonus.

  • Develop, test, and maintain scripted solutions as required.

  • Python, PowerShell, Bash, GoLang, and whatever else is needed.

  • Use modern development tools and environments (GIT, your IDE of choice, Docker, Linux/Unix).

  • Implement and practice common DevOps solutions.

  • Deploy and schedule with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or relevant other).

  • Infrastructure management and manipulation of geographically dispersed data center environments including various public clouds (GCP, AWS, IBM SoftLayer, Azure).

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.

Job Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.

  • ITSM certification preferred, ITSM foundation training required.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of Infrastructure Automation or DevOps experience.

  • 3+ years of experience developing with REST APIs or webhooks.

  • 1+ years Linux System Administration in a complex data center environment.

  • Experience with Docker, VMware, or other similar concepts of virtualization.

  • A solid understanding of networking, firewalls, load balancers, TCP/IP, security standards.

Professional Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English is required.

  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills, including teleconference and web conference.

  • Excellent skills in math to calculate currency exchanges and summary data.

  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills, proven ability to manage by influence.

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities, communicating changes in scope and schedule to all parties concerned.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office product suite.

  • Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule responding to critical issues.
